Panerai have announced its continued alliance with Luna Rossa as Official Sponsor of the sailing team for the 38th America’s Cup. This edition marks a milestone moment in sailing history, as the prestigious competition sets course in Italy for the very first time—off the breathtaking shores of Naples, beneath the watchful presence of Mount Vesuvius and alongside a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

To commemorate this renewed collaboration, Panerai unveils two new additions to the Luna Rossa collection: the Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 and the Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653. These mechanical timepieces embody Panerai’s heritage of maritime precision, combining rugged functionality with a striking aesthetic inspired by the Luna Rossa team.

A limited edition of just 150 pieces, the PAM01654 features a robust 44mm titanium case—44% lighter than steel yet equally resilient. Engineered for endurance and everyday comfort, its brushed and polished surfaces reflect Panerai’s refined craftsmanship.
At its heart lies the P.9100 caliber, Panerai’s first automatic chronograph movement, offering a flyback function operated via a red-lacquered pusher at 8 o’clock. This allows for instant reset and restart of the chronograph with a single press, eliminating the need for a multi-step process. The movement also incorporates a vertical clutch, column wheel, and a central jumping-minute chronograph hand for precision timing.
With a power reserve of 72 hours, achieved through twin spring barrels in series, the P.9100 is both technically advanced and visually captivating—its mechanics fully visible through the sapphire crystal case back. A tachymeter scale enhances its nautical utility, while red accents and the Luna Rossa decal on the matte grey sandwich dial inject sporty flair. The watch comes with a black and grey bi-material strap featuring the signature Luna Rossa stripe, plus an additional black rubber strap.

Blending a refined, sporty style with Panerai’s technical DNA, the PAM01653 is housed in a 44mm case made from AISI 316LVM – 1.4441 stainless steel. This high-grade alloy is vacuum arc remelted for superior purity and enhanced corrosion resistance, making it ideal for harsh marine environments.
Driven by the manually wound P.6000 caliber, the watch offers a three-day power reserve and features a stop-second function for precise time-setting. Its traversing balance bridge adds stability, while the minimalist grey sandwich dial, small seconds sub-dial at 9 o’clock, and Luna Rossa insignia at 6 o’clock ensure legibility and visual balance.
Super-LumiNova® X1 on the markers and hands guarantees optimal visibility in low-light conditions—a nod to Panerai’s naval heritage. Like its counterpart, the PAM01653 includes a black and grey bi-material strap with Luna Rossa branding and a second black rubber strap for versatility.
