A. Lange & Söhne

In 1845, Dresden based watchmaker Ferdinand Adolph Lange laid the cornerstone of Saxony’s precision watchmaking industry when he established his manufactory. However, the effort he had established then was expropriated after World War II, and the name A. Lange & Söhne nearly vanished. Until that is in 1990, when Ferdinand Adolph Lange’s great-grandson Walter Lange had the courage to give the brand a new lease of life.

Today, Lange stands as an exemplary creator fine timepieces produced in a very limited numbers per year, in gold or platinum. They are endowed exclusively with proprietary movements that are lavishly decorated and assembled by hand. Some of the brand’s best-known creations such as the Lange 1 with the signature outsize date and the Zeitwerk with its precisely jumping digital display, rank among the company’s greatest successes.

Sophisticated complications such as the Zeitwerk Minute Repeater or the Tourbograph Perpetual “Pour le Mérite”, along with exquisite watches of their Handwerkskunst watches reflect the manufactory’s determination to achieve ever-new horizons in horological artistry.
