Mr Jones Watches Launches Surreal And Playful Watch

Mr Jones Watches have created a quirky and surreal new limited edition watch in collaboration with designer David Oku, featuring an all-seeing eye.

Eyecon – designed by London-based illustrator and animator, David Oku – will be available from 8am (BST) on Friday 30th May for just 24 hours.

With its flat, primary colours and dreamlike design, Eyecon brings a sense of curiosity and playfulness to timetelling, encouraging its wearer to look at time beyond just numbers.

The watch face also includes two dynamic hearts on either side of the central eye. This watch marks the first time Mr Jones Watches has experimented with 3D elements in its designs.

The hours are mapped out in a crescent shape represented by a travelling star with 6am starting from the left and 6pm ending on the right.

After 6pm, a moon replaces the star with its position marking the hours 6pm to 6am. The white dot in the pupil of the all-seeing eye points out the minutes.

“The inspiration came from the idea of perceiving time not just as numbers but as an experience: something vibrant, emotional and sometimes surreal. My previous work has often blended whimsical geometry with emotional expression. I love incorporating elements that feel both digital and organic like eyes or hearts. This watch continues that thread: it’s wearable art that feels alive and interactive.”

David Oku is a London-based illustrator and animator with Nigerian-Italian roots, born in Germany and shaped by a lifelong journey through cultures and continents.
