Latest Bamford B347 Collaboration Marks #WorldKindnessDay

Bamford London and fellow disruptor seconde/seconde/ collaborate again and give their new limited-edition watch the middle finger.

The Bamford London x seconde/seconde/ B347 BAD MOF’R is the bad-ass second love-child conceived by the disruptive British watch company Bamford London and the anarchic French creative Romaric André, aka seconde/seconde/. The watch is based on Bamford London’s B347 Titanium Monopusher Chronograph and is limited to 50 pieces.

George (Bamford) met Romaric back in 2020 forming a unique bond. They’re a duo who see the world through a different lens, peeling away decades of convention to surprise and distort. And now they’re back for a second collaboration with the Bamford London seconde/seconde/ B347 (BAD MOF’R).

The watch’s story centres around two elements. First is the name: BAD MOF’R, a spin on BAMFORD. Second is the subdial at 3 o’clock where seconde/seconde/ has swapped the conventional hand for a single-fingered salute that becomes the chronograph’s 30-minute counter. The white counter sits in stark contrast to the gradient blue dial, while the red sleeve picks out the red central seconds hand. The chronograph is powered by a Swiss Made Sellita SW510 automatic and operated by a single pusher at 2 o’clock, which, like the crown and the 41.5mm case, are cast in super-light titanium. The whole thing is set on a blue Cordura strap.

“I was drawn to Romaric’s work initially because it was so arresting and so liberating at the same time, it’s satirical, but there’s a real joy in it. I felt Romaric was taking the piss out of strained old ideas and bringing us all in on the joke with him. And I just loved that and wanted to know more. Then I met him and knew we had to collaborate. The BAD FORM GMT felt so right and people loved it, so we got talking about a second collaboration straightaway. The BAD MOF’R breaks the kind of taboos that can make the watch space a bit dull sometimes and shows what it can be. Playful, upstart, free. And you can’t ignore it. That’s the amazing thing about it.”

George Bamford, Founder, Bamford London

The BAD MOF’R follows the BAD FORM GMT, which was based on the Bamford London signature GMT design and featured a Churchillian two-fingered salute, as well as the bastardisation of the Bamford logo into Bad Form.

“I can’t lie, I like vandalising other people’s stuff, even when George lets me do it. People are always trying to control each other and their own lives with rigid conventions, which is a kind of madness when you think about it. With this watch I wanted to expose that. Is it disrespectful? Sure, if you think those conventions deserve too much respect. Is it offensive? If you can’t see the absurdity that surrounds us, it probably is, yes. George gets that, too, and I guess that makes us a pair of BAD MOF’Rs. I’m really happy with how the watch turned out, and I’m already looking forward to vandalising more of his watches some-day.”
