Latest Bamford London GMT In A Seconde/Seconde/

Bamford London ‘Bad Form’ GMT in collaboration with seconde/seconde/ for a 50-piece numbered limited edition GMT watch.

George Bamford, founder of Bamford London first connected with Romaric André, founder of seconde/seconde/ in 2020. The shared passion for their work signalled a unique collaboration which is based on their mutual interests and obsessions.

“we are obsessed with our works, we work with people who are obsessed with theirs, everything else is secondary”

About’ seconde/seconde/ statement

Romaric featured as a guest on George’s podcast ‘GB Talks’ where he discusses oddball watches, the perfect subject for the pair, and the design process for this collaboration began – the result, a timepiece that perfectly reflects the culmination of the two brands.

The seconde/seconde/ edition Bamford London ‘Bad Form’ GMT features British racing green, white and red colourways. The ‘up yours’ hand sign artwork from seconde/seconde/ is central to the dial and Bamford’s logo has been repositioned and modified to say ‘Bad Form’. A red arrow shows the distortion, representing the provocative design of this timepiece.

“Ever since I saw Romaric André’s pieces at the M.A.D gallery in Geneva, I became addicted to his social media and I wanted to work with him. I have a mutual respect for him and what he does with customisation in the watch world. I would absolutely love to spend two minutes in his brain as he is an amazing gentleman and I love his creativity. When we started looking at designs on our Bamford London GMT, I said nothing is off the table and I wanted to have some fun. I love what he has designed, from how he has changed the logo to the ‘up yours’ artwork as well as the special packaging he has created. He is a true customiser artist and I hope it is the first of a few projects together.”

George Bamford, Founder, Bamford London

“I made kind of my trademark to play and distort watch brand logos and names. When I saw the ‘Bad Form’ in ‘Bamford’, it just tilted. This kind of offence against conventions immediately resonated with that English cliché: the anti-social, the rock, the punk, all that urge for irreverence in a society where you must wear uniforms at schools. And there was no better symbolism for this ‘English bad form’ than this typical ‘up yours’ hand sign popularised (consciously or not) by Churchill. So all that concept blending Englishness and disrespect made sense to me.”
