Maison Boanton Create The Modern Heritage Watch

MAISON BOANTON was founded by a team of watch enthusiasts and experts with a strong vision.

Driven by passion, Hassan Sefrioui left his 10-year position at the United Nations and World Development, bringing together a team with over 25 years of expertise in the Swiss watch industry. But the goal wasn’t just to create a watch company, it was to breathe new life into the heritage of watchmaking. With the expertise of William Rigoulet (former head of the Watch Design Studio at Cartier), Mikaël Bourgeois (watchmaker with over 500 models developed for luxury brands), and Matthieu Duvernet (expert in design with 15 years’ experience in the luxury watchmaking and automotive industries), the Boanton first collection is a modern reinterpretation of the first waterproof wristwatch in history.

The Ellipse collection is inspired by the aesthetic codes of the 1920s. Every detail has been meticulously crafted, from the guilloché decorations to the signature engraving at the centre of the dial. The timepiece has a bezel and caseback screwed onto a central container. Every component, including the case, is interchangeable.

The entire ELLIPSE collection was hand sketched, just like in the past. From design to production, the team spent more than 18 months on the technical design of this watch, and 6 months finding a manufacturer capable of bringing the vision to life.

The limited number collection of 500 pieces for each variant, is available on Kickstarter and can be secured in the following dial design – Ref: B2201-RM or B2201-AR. With its Roman numerals, the reference B2201-RM pays homage to classic watchmaking while adding a touch of modernity. Featuring Arabic numerals and a contemporary design, the reference B2201-AR with luminescent sword hands offers a more rebellious look.
